The Mariners look set to add to their midfield ranks with the loan signing of a former Wolves, Doncaster and Portsmouth star.
Midfielder Kyle Bennett is set to make the move north from Bristol Rovers on loan until the end of the season, according to our sources in the South West.
The 30-year-old will bring plenty of experience to the centre of the park for Ian Holloway’s side, having racked up nearly 400 league appearances, since making the breakthrough with Bury in 2010.
Holloway will be keen on a player that has had success in the Football League previously with Doncaster and Pompey.
Bennett joined the Pirates midway through the 2017/18 season and made 19 appearances for the club last season.
It is expected he will add an injection of pace to the Mariners’ side and is comfortable cutting in from the left or playing down the centre of the park.
