The Mariners started their inaugural Football Conference campaign with a trip to title favourites Crawley Town. Lee Peacock’s first-half free kick ensured Neil Woods’ side started the season with all three points but it would be a long, hard road back to the Football League from there.

Mariners denied again in Trophy Final
THERE was no dream ‘Wembley double’ for Grimsby Town as they fell again in the final hurdle of the FA Trophy.
Scott McManus’ goal at the start of the second half was enough to send the trophy back to West Yorkshire.
