A brace from top scorer Omar Bogle wasn’t enough to register the Mariners a point in this five-goal thriller at Crawley.
Kayden Jackson came close early on for the Mariners but it was the home side who took the lead on 31 minutes when James Collins converted.
Town equalised on the half-time whistle when Bogle stretched to head home Tom Bolarinwa’s right-wing cross.
Jordan Roberts restored the hosts’ lead on 56 minutes when he stroked home from close-range and he added his second direct from a corner eleven minutes from time.
Bogle reduced the arrears in injury time with a thunderous effort from 30 yards but it was too late for the Mariners to grab a point.
