Flashback: Mariners 1 Kidderminster 2

THERE have been plenty of goals shared over the years by the Mariners and Kidderminster. In March 2012, Ryan Rowe’s late strike rocked Town and meant the visitors left Blundell Park with all three points.

Match Action

5 mins: Peter Winn lays off for Liam Hearn and the Mariners’ top scorer cuts inside to curl an 18-yard effort that is well held by visiting stopper Tony Breeden.

7 mins: Hearn turns provider this time with a clever back-heel into the path of Michael Coulson but the winger’s shot with the outside of his boot is comfortable for Breeden.

12 mins: It is Frankie Artus with the neat lay-off this time and he finds Peter Winn who sends in another effort on the outside of the boot, this time it goes over the crossbar.

14 mins: GOAL DISALLOWED! A corner from the right is headed goalwards by big Tom Marshall. James McKeown manages to keep it out but Harriers’ Anthony Malbon is on hand to bundle home but the linesman on the near side flags him offside.

18 mins: A ricochet off Marshall falls kindly for Winn and he works the angle to send in a powerful left-foot effort that whizzes inches beyond the far post with Breeden beaten.

26 mins: Kidderminster break at pace following a Town corner and veteran Steve Guinan forces McKeown into an excellent save with a rasping right-foot effort from 20 yards.

29 mins: Anthony Elding breaks down the left and his cross is inch-perfect for Hearn but the former Alfreton striker sees Breeden somehow keep out his downward header with a fantastic one-handed save.

39 mins: GOAL! Town win a free kick on the byline to the left of the goal and Artus clips in the set-piece for the unmarked Andrew Wright to head home from eight yards via the far post.

47 mins: Marvin Johnson advances down the left and pulls the ball back for Malbon but the Harriers’ striker is denied at the second attempt by McKeown.

56 mins: GOAL! Kyle Storer’s free kick is well dealt with by the Mariners’ wall but they switch off before Lee Vaughan crosses for Malbon to head home unmarked from six yards out.

80 mins: OFF THE LINE! Substitutes Rob Duffy and Anthony Church combine with the latter latching on to a flick down to fire past Breeden, only for Marshall to clear from his own goal-line.

86 mins: Breathtaking stuff from McKeown as he claws out a long-range Marshall free kick and then is back to his feet to deny Malbon with an instinctive save.

87 mins: More heroics from McKeown as he reacts brilliantly to keep out a wayward Wright header following another corner.

90 mins: GOAL! Substitute Ryan Rowe picks the ball up on the left and is allowed to run unchallenged across the face of the six-yard box before firing beyond McKeown to give the Harriers the three points.
